Custom Myanmar (Burma)
A century ago British author Rudyard Kipling was captivated by the glittering kingdom of Burma - now called Myanmar - and wrote that it was “quite unlike any land that you know about.” Kipling’s words still hold true today.
Trip Overview
- Watch the sun set over the gleaming dome of Shwedagon Pagoda, the sublime image of Buddhist devotion.
- Marvel at the Plain of Temples, where thousands of sacred stupa spires were once part of a vibrant royal city.
- Meet the gentle and hospitable people of Myanmar, whose authentic cultures remain little marred by modernity.
In a globalizing world that feels smaller by the day, the passionate traveler yearns for journeys that offer genuine discoveries. Without question, Burma – now called Myanmar – has them in spades. A century ago British author Rudyard Kipling was captivated by the glittering kingdom and wrote that it was “quite unlike any land that you know about.” Kipling’s words still hold true today, as Myanmar is emerging from years of isolation as a political pariah to welcome adventurous travelers. Though its military government remains, we are able to partner with small local enterprises to introduce you first-hand to the warm Burmese people and offer much-needed support directly to them. Myanmar is Southeast Asia’s rarest jewel. If you wish to experience the Burma of old, it’s still right here, as mesmerizing as it was for Kipling.
