EPIC China Adventure
A unique exploration of a nation both ancient and modern, which has intrigued travelers for millennia
Trip Overview
- Discover China’s great cities, rural traditions and natural treasures on an incomparable 3-week journey into the riches of Chinese history and culture
- Enjoy exclusive access to special museum exhibits and private events, from Tai Chi and calligraphy lessons to traditional meals in family homes
- Experience China from an insider’s perspective through encounters not often afforded to the casual traveler
One of the great civilizations of the ancient world, China has captivated travelers for centuries. Like sojourners on the Silk Road, we, too, are drawn to China’s mystique. To visit China today is to encounter the riches of a historical legacy that has continued in an unbroken line for more than 7,000 years. Our discovery begins in Beijing, the traditional capital and heart of Chinese culture and learning. Before our grand odyssey concludes in glittering Shanghai, we weave our way through the mind-boggling diversity of a nation that stretches more than 3,000 miles across East Asia. Unlike most tours that merely touch the surface, we delve deep into Chinese life and geography, floating down a Yangtze tributary on a bamboo raft, meeting ethnic villagers in remote hamlets, hiking below the glacier-clad Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and exploring serene gardens and rare archaeological treasures, from the Terracotta Army to a cave replete with carved, smiling Buddhas. Our discoveries are complemented by unique accommodations, dining experiences and cultural performances that enhance the local atmosphere of each destination. EPIC China is a matchless traveler’s survey of a magnificent country that continues to intrigue and enchant as it has for millennia. Location of Adventure China
Group Size Limit: Approximately 14 Travelers A very important feature of our EPIC China journey is the limited group size, as an in-depth cultural tour is best experienced with a smaller group of travelers.
Included Airport transfers on Day 1 and final day of itinerary (and on day prior to start of trip if you are staying at The Peninsula Beijing), accommodations, land transportation and all internal flights, meals from breakfast on Day 2 to breakfast on final day, bottled water and soft drinks at meals and bottled water during activities, services of an Asia360° Travel Co. Expedition Leader, local tour escort and local guides, most gratuities, permits and entrance fees and all taxes.
Not Included Transportation from your home city to Beijing, China, and from Shanghai back to your home city, early arrival airport transfers (other than those described above), late departure airport transfers, passport and visa fees, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, laundry, internet, etc.), alcoholic beverages, some gratuities, required medical evacuation insurance, optional travel insurance, airline baggage fees and applicable departure and airport taxes.
Physical Requirements Easy to Moderate / Flexible Physical activities include easy nature walks and city walking tours, approximately two to six miles in length. Some walks occur at altitudes over 10,000 feet. We stress that all activities are optional and travelers are not required to participate in every activity. Due to China's vast size, our journey will also involve several internal flights and some long drives (4- to 5-hour range) over bumpy surfaces.
Important Note Should traveler numbers be below a certain number, some activities and services, including the size of vehicles and the guiding service, may be altered to be more consistent with a smaller group.
Getting There & Getting Home You may arrive in Beijing anytime on Day 1 of the itinerary. You are free to depart Shanghai anytime on the final day. We can best serve you if Asia360° Travel Co.'s Travel Desk makes your flight reservations, as we are intimately familiar with the special requirements of this program and can arrange the most efficient travel.
